Self-yeeted as Labor Secretary once a misconduct probe closed in, with allegations and internal chaos piling up until the whole thing turned into another messy, can’t-survive-this Trumpworld exit.
Lori Chavez-DeRemer is the 30th U.S. Secretary of Labor, sworn in on March 11, 2025 after serving one term as Oregon’s 5th District representative and previously as mayor of Happy Valley, Oregon. A Republican with unusually labor-friendly branding for Trumpworld, she drew attention for past support of the PRO Act and backing from some unions during her confirmation. Her tenure has also picked up personal controversy after Reuters reported her husband was barred from the Labor Department’s headquarters over sexual-assault allegations.
