John Kelly served as White House Chief of Staff under President Donald Trump, responsible for managing the administration and bringing order to the executive branch. A retired Marine Corps general, he was brought in to stabilize a White House already known for internal chaos. Which sounds great in theory, right up until you realize the chaos wasn’t a bug—it was the whole system. Kelly spent his time trying to impose structure on something that clearly didn’t want it, and eventually got pushed out like everyone else who tried.
